Carriage and Insurance Paid

An Incoterm which may be used irrespective of the mode of transport used. The seller delivers the goods, cleared for export, to the Carrier nominated by him. The seller contracts (or procures a contract) for and pays the cost of carriage to bring the goods to the named place of destination and insures against the buyer's risk of loss of or damage to the goods during the carriage.
